Kris Snyder is a graduate of the Music for Healing and Transition Program and is a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP)®.
Healing is defined as: The restoration, realization and or maintenance of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wholeness. We make a distinction between healing and curing, with no claims to erase illness with harp music, although current clinical research indicates that live acoustic music is useful in a healing environment: reducing the need for pain medications, reducing the need for anesthesia, slowing respiration and heart rates, and inducing relaxation.
Kris serves the critically, chronically and temporarily ill and the dying, providing live harp music at the bedside. The services she offers are provided to adults of all ages in any clinical or care site including hospitals (ICU, pre-OP and post-OP, etc. as well as patients’ rooms), hospice and home care settings, nursing homes, clinics and offices.
What the patients and the clients say:
“It took me away from the hospital to a place of beauty and stillness.” — Post-op Patient
“Your music is like the calm after a storm.” — Post-op Patient
“She brings calm and beauty to our stress-filled lives.” — Registered Nurse, ICU
“Patients in severe pain were able to reduce their medication and reach through their fear and anxiety.” — Registered Nurse, Surgical Unit
